UK/NZ Nanny agency placing Nannies in London and the UK

Want to work in the UK ? Our agency is FREE to nannies!

If you have a recognised nanny or teaching qualification or some experience looking after children just follow these simple steps:

Step One:

Fill in our https://oneworldnannies.com/nanniesapplication/ form and upload your CV so we can easily contact you to discuss your options – we are used to working around different time zones when necessary!

Step Two:

We will initially arrange a telephone interview with you to discuss your ideal job and then in due course depending on your location may also meet with you in the UK

Step Three:

We will require a copy of an up to date Police Check from your home country – these can sometimes take a few weeks.  If applying from New Zealand here is the link you will need https://www.justice.govt.nz/criminal-records/ or from Australia https://www.afp.gov.au/our-services/national-police-checks                                           If you are in the UK already and have not got an Enhanced UK DBS check we can arrange this for you using our provider Care Check https://www.carecheck.co.uk/products/enhanced-dbs-check/.

Step Four:

We will require at least two references from previous childcare work you have done. These should be recent and ideally from your last two employers (not from relatives).  Referees must be able to speak English and be contactable by email initially so we can send them out our reference forms before we follow up with telephone calls.                        In due course it may also be necessary for them to talk to prospective employers about you ahead of a job offer being made.                                                                                              If you do not have full time childcare experience and have worked in other fields previously, we may need the name and e mail address of your current line manager as well to obtain a character reference.

Step Five:

We will help you get your CV in shape and ready to be sent to families.  It is also important that you have a current suitable First Aid qualification and we will provide you with more information on this at this point.  If you have arrived in the UK and do not have a first aid qualification or yours has expired, this is a well known provider who are willing to offer our candidates discounts on courses, so if you are planning on using them please do contact us for information on how to receive the discount available.  https://firstaidforlife.org.uk/first-aid-courses/paediatric-first-aid-full-ofsted-syllabus/

Step Six:

You will need to a Visa to work in the UK unless you have a UK Passport. These can take some time to process so it’s worth starting early! Contact your nearest British Consulate for advice and check out this link for visa information https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/uk-visas-and-immigration. In addition you will also need to budget for this https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application

Alternatively you can pay a company like https://www.britbound.com/ to help.  They sell a range of packages to help you organise the formalities such as visas, national insurance, and banking (including international fee-free money transfers).  They also when permitted, organise social events.

Step Seven:

Interviews may happen virtually over the telephone or via methods such as FaceTime or Zoom in the first instance, and then face to face. We make every possible effort to match you with the right family, assessing their needs as well as your own requirements.  We will help you through the whole process of choosing a job, and guide you on salary and provide contract advice too.  If you are not in the UK we may link you up directly with families to make it easier for both parties to arrange a mutually convenient time to chat.

Our Nannies Recommend Us!

Jurnee Stack

I’m an early childhood educator who relocated from New Zealand to London, and I truly couldn’t have asked for better support than I received from Sue and the team at One World Nannies!!

From the very beginning of my journey starting in NZ, Sue took the time to genuinely get to know me, to really show case not just my CV and experience, but who I am as a person, what I value in my work, and the type of family dynamic I thrive in. Moving across the world is a huge step, and she made the entire process feel exciting rather than overwhelming.

Throughout every stage, from initial conversations, interviews, decision-making, and settling into my role, Sue has been consistently supportive, approachable, and reassuring. Even after placing me, she has continued to check in and be someone I can reach out to for advice or support! That ongoing care speaks volumes about how much she truly values both her nannies and her families.

Sue places families and educators with integrity, honesty, and genuine passion. She is thoughtful in her matching process and doesn’t rush placements, she really considers personalities, values, and long-term fit. Because of that, I genuinely feel I’ve found the perfect match for me. I feel supported, valued, and aligned in my role, which is everything you hope for when moving to a new country.

On top of all that, Sue is personable, funny, warm, and incredibly easy to connect with. She brings such a human touch to what can sometimes feel like a formal process. You immediately feel comfortable and confident that you’re in good hands!!

I am so grateful for the support I’ve received and would highly, highly recommend Sue and the team at One World Nannies to any nanny or family looking for a thoughtful, professional, and genuinely caring agency! Thanks again Sue!

Amazing opportunities with a family who welcomed me as one of their own

“I have been so fortunate to have been connected with a family who welcomed me in as one of their own and provided me with amazing opportunities during my 3.5 years with them.

Without the team at One World Nannies I would not have seen the world in the way I have, built the connections I did and had the opportunity to experience life as a live-in nanny”
