Parents

Registering with us is FREE! We only charge a fee if we are successful in finding the right nanny for your family.

The majority of our Nannies are Kiwis, actively recruited through our relationships with the various Nanny Colleges in New Zealand. These colleges have reputations for providing Nannies with ‘can do’ positive attitudes. Many of our candidates come to us as referrals, having heard from friends about the service and support we provide.

However we are not limited to just dealing with Nannies from New Zealand and appreciate it is vital that you find the right person to work with you and your children regardless of their Nationality.

Some of our candidates are already in London and available for face to face interviews. Some are getting ready to come over to the UK and we are happy to arrange for you to chat on the telephone or Skype them before they arrive. To register your interest, find out who we currently have available for you to meet or simply for more information please do not hesitate to fill in our Parent application or contact us.

Vetting Process

We do not rely on a UK DBS disclosure alone as many nannies will have only just arrived in the UK.  We ask for copies of their Police Check from their own country too and will highlight any concerns in our vetting process.

We can also arrange for you to speak to the nannies’ referees too, as you may have specific requirements for your position and questions regarding these. We will provide copies of the written references we have obtained and information about the results of our vetting.

For information on the DBS service contact www.gov.uk/government/organisations/disclosure-and-barring-service For Nannies who register with us, even if they have just arrived in the UK, we can arrange a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) disclosure should you require it.  Additionally within 19 days of the DBS check coming through, the Nanny should then register for the Status Update option available for their DBS. Without this Status Update service, the DBS is frozen in time on the date of issue, with there being no way of knowing if something untowards has happened since that date.  If the status update certificate is renewed each year, your Nanny will not need to complete a new UK DBS application.

Please note, if you are looking for your Nanny to become Ofsted registered, this enhanced DBS together with Status Update is part of their Ofsted Registration.

Fill in the Parent application form and we will contact you shortly to discuss your needs in further detail.

We are not currently VAT registered.

Taxation and Liability

It is the responsibility of the employer to pay tax and national insurance. In the UK there is a simple system set up by the Inland Revenue to make this easy. For more information contact a specialist company like www.nannytax.co.uk
It is against the law for an Employer not to have Employer’s Liability Insurance, and you can be fined very heavily for each day that you fail to do so.

Nanny Insurance

We recommend all our nannies take out Nanny Insurance – Public Liability Insurance with a minimum of £1 million cover. We are happy to point nannies in the right direction to organise this.

Some recent recommendations from families:

“Looking for a nanny to care for your children is an extremely important and daunting task but luckily Sue and Ruth have always made the process easy and efficient. We have two children, ages 3 and 3 months and have secured very caring, experienced and lovely nannies through One World Nannies”

Nadine – London

“We have used One World Nannies three times now over more than 6 years and have been very pleased with the nannies found through them. They are very easy and straightforward to deal with and we would not hesitate to use them again when our current nanny’s visa comes to an end. We would recommend One World Nannies to others.”

Sam – London

“…Finding the right nanny for your bundle(s) of joy can be a challenge. The team at One World Nannies have helped us out on two occasions and each time we have been very pleased with the high calibre of candidate and the ease of getting through the hiring process. Ruth and Sue actually listen to your requirements and this is reflected in their lovely candidates. Our nanny is part of the family and we are incredibly greatful to Ruth and Sue for sending her to us. We would highly recommend One World Nannies and would not hesitate to use them again…”

Nadine T – Richmond

“We have been delighted with the nanny that was placed with us through One World Nannies. She is a very competent and caring nanny. One World nannies have offered us a very professional service and were able to help us on issues to do with the nanny share arrangement and Ofsted registration for our nanny. Our daughter has got on really well with the nanny and we have been very confident in her abilities to care for our daughter and stimulate her through her changing needs as she has developed over the past year. We would not hesitate to recommend One World Nannies and we will definitely be using them again when I return to work from maternity leave for the second time.”
